Non-canonical protein termini can be the result of multiple different biological processes, including pre-translational processes such as alternative splicing and alternative translation initiation or post-translational protein processing by proteases that cleave proteases as part of protein maturation or as a regulatory modification. Accordingly, protein termini evidence in TopFIND is inferred from other databases such as ENSEMBL transcripts, TISdb for alternative translation initiation, MEROPS for protein cleavage by proteases, and UniProt for canonical and protein isoform start sites. topfind.clip@gmail.com disciplinary More than 290.000 N- and C-termini; more than 33.000 cleavages listed 2011 eng 2 Life Sciences 201 Basic Biological and Medical Research 20103 Cell Biology 20104 Structural Biology 20105 General Genetics 20107 Bioinformatics and Theoretical Biology 21 Biology http://clipserve.clip.ubc.ca/topfind/about Raw data Scientific and statistical data formats dataProvider bioinformatics polypeptide chain protease proteins proteomics University of British Columbia UBC CAN general technical non-profit https://www.ubc.ca/ License & Disclaimer http://clipserve.clip.ubc.ca/topfind/license open open CC https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nd/3.0/ restricted registration Data contribution http://clipserve.clip.ubc.ca/topfind/downloads/TopFIND%20%E2%80%93%20HowTo%20contribute%20your%20data.pdf unknown yes http://clipserve.clip.ubc.ca/topfind/api http://clipserve.clip.ubc.ca/topfind/about unknown unknown Repository-Developed Metadata Schemas http://www.dcc.ac.uk/resources/metadata-standards/repository-developed-metadata-schemas 2018-07-04 2018-08-16
