r3d100012192 NCBI SARS-CoV SARS-CoV Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sars-cov-2/ This Web resource provides data and information relevant to SARS coronavirus. It includes links to the most recent sequence data and publications, to other SARS related resources, and a pre-computed alignment of genome sequences from various isolates. The genome of SARS-CoV consists of a single, positive-strand RNA that is approximately 29,700 nucleotides long. The overall genome organization of SARS-CoV is similar to that of other coronaviruses. The reference genome includes 13 genes, which encode at least 14 proteins. Two large overlapping reading frames (ORFs) encompass 71% of the genome. The remainder has 12 potential ORFs, including genes for structural proteins S (spike), E (small envelope), M (membrane), and N (nucleocapsid). Other potential ORFs code for unique putative SARS-CoV-specific polypeptides that lack obvious sequence similarity to known proteins. genomes@ncbi.nlm.nih.gov disciplinary eng 2 Life Sciences 204 Microbiology, Virology and Immunology 21 Biology 22 Medicine Databases Raw data Scientific and statistical data formats other dataProvider serviceProvider COVID-19 RNA SARS genomics nucleotides sequences National Center for Biotechnology Information NCBI USA general non-profit http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/ https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/about/contact.shtml National Institutes of Health NIH USA funding non-profit http://www.nih.gov/ United States National Library of Medicine NLM USA general non-profit http://www.nlm.nih.gov/ NCBI Website and Data Usage Policies and Disclaimers https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/about/policies.shtml open open CC0 https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/about/policies.shtml Copyrights https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/about/policies.shtml other https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/home/about/policies.shtml closed unknown none no unknown 2016-10-21 2022-09-22
