r3d100011780 SuperDARN Super Dual Auroral Radar Networks http://superdarn.gi.alaska.edu/ SuperDARN is an international HF radar network designed to measure global-scale magnetospheric convection by observing plasma motion in the Earth’s upper atmosphere. This network consists of more than 20 radars operating on frequencies between 8 and 20 MHz that look into the polar regions of Earth. These radars can measure the position and velocity of charged particles in our ionosphere, the highest layer of the Earth's atmosphere, and provide scientists with information regarding Earth's interaction with the space environment. info@gi.alaska.edu disciplinary eng 3 Natural Sciences 311 Astrophysics and Astronomy 313 Atmospheric Science and Oceanography 315 Geophysics and Geodesy 32 Physics 34 Geosciences (including Geography) http://www.gi.alaska.edu/facilities/superdarn Images Raw data Scientific and statistical data formats Structured graphics other dataProvider HF radar VSWR bandwdith dipole Wallops Island radar atmosphere ionosphere magnetosphere mesosphere plasma physics solar wind thermosphere Johns Hopkins University, Applied Physics Laboratory JHU, APL USA general technical non-profit http://www.jhuapl.edu/ http://www.jhuapl.edu/aboutapl/visitor/contactinformation.asp NASA, Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Flight Facility NASA, Goddard Space Flight Center, Wallops Island Flight Facility USA funding technical non-profit http://www.nasa.gov/centers/wallops/home National Science Foundation NSF USA funding non-profit http://www.nsf.gov/ Office of Naval Research ONR USA funding non-profit http://www.onr.navy.mil/ University of Alaska Fairbanks, Geophysical Institute UAF, Geophysical Institute USA general non-profit http://www.gi.alaska.edu/ https://www.gi.alaska.edu/about/contact uaf-gi-public-info@alaska.edu SuperDARN Principal Investigators’ Agreement http://vt.superdarn.org/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=904 open open restricted other other http://vt.superdarn.org/tiki-download_file.php?fileId=904 closed other none unknown unknown http://superdarn.usask.ca/comments/feed/ http://superdarn.usask.ca/feed/ SuperDARN is operated and maintained by an international collaboration of multiple universities and research institutions, located throughout the world.
