r3d100011057 Copernicus GMES Global Monitoring for Environment and Security The European Earth Observation Pogramme https://www.copernicus.eu/en Copernicus is a European system for monitoring the Earth. Copernicus consists of a complex set of systems which collect data from multiple sources: earth observation satellites and in situ sensors such as ground stations, airborne and sea-borne sensors. It processes these data and provides users with reliable and up-to-date information through a set of services related to environmental and security issues. The services address six thematic areas: land monitoring, marine monitoring, atmosphere monitoring, climate change, emergency management and security. The main users of Copernicus services are policymakers and public authorities who need the information to develop environmental legislation and policies or to take critical decisions in the event of an emergency, such as a natural disaster or a humanitarian crisis. Based on the Copernicus services and on the data collected through the Sentinels and the contributing missions , many value-added services can be tailored to specific public or commercial needs, resulting in new business opportunities. In fact, several economic studies have already demonstrated a huge potential for job creation, innovation and growth. https://www.copernicus.eu/en/network/get-touch support@copernicus.eu disciplinary institutional 2011 eng 2 Life Sciences 207 Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and Veterinary Medicine 20704 Ecology of Agricultural Landscapes 23 Agriculture, Forestry, Horticulture and Veterinary Medicine 3 Natural Sciences 313 Atmospheric Science and Oceanography 31301 Atmospheric Science 31302 Oceanography 315 Geophysics and Geodesy 31502 Geodesy, Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing, Geoinformatics, Cartogaphy 34 Geosciences (including Geography) https://www.copernicus.eu/en/about-copernicus Databases Images Plain text Raw data Scientific and statistical data formats Structured graphics Structured text other dataProvider serviceProvider EMSA EUROSUR FRONTEX G-MOSAIC SEA Sentinels agriculture border surveillance civil protection climate change earth observation environment protection environmental hazards fisheries forestry health management of urban areas regional and local planning satellite missions sustainable development tourism transport European Commission EC EEC funding non-profit https://ec.europa.eu/commission/index_en European Commission, Community Research and Development Information Service, Seventh Framework Programme FP7 EEC funding non-profit https://ec.europa.eu/research/fp7/index_en.cfm European Environment Agency EEA EEC funding general non-profit https://www.eea.europa.eu/ Alan.Steel@eea.europa.eu Ana.Sousa@eea.europa.eu Eugenija.Schuren@eea.europa.eu Gunter.Zeug@eea.europa.eu Gyorgy.Buttner@eea.europa.eu Hans.Dufourmont@eea.europa.eu Ilona.Schioler@eea.europa.eu Silvo.Zlebir@eea.europa.eu Tobias.Langanke@eea.europa.eu European Space Agency ESA EEC general technical non-profit http://www.esa.int/ESA copernicus.space.office@esa.int http://www.esa.int/Our_Activities/Observing_the_Earth/Copernicus/Overview3 Copernicus policy https://www.copernicus.eu/en/documentation/copernicus-policy How to access data https://www.copernicus.eu/en/how/how-access-data Scihub Terms and conditions https://scihub.copernicus.eu/twiki/do/view/SciHubWebPortal/TermsConditions open open open feeRequired restricted other restricted registration Copyrights https://www.copernicus.eu/en/how/copyright-and-licenses Public Domain https://www.copernicus.eu/en/how/how-access-data other https://sentinels.copernicus.eu/documents/247904/690755/Sentinel_Data_Legal_Notice other https://www.copernicus.eu/en/how/how-access-data closed unknown https://scihub.copernicus.eu/userguide/APIsOverview none no yes ISO 19115 http://www.dcc.ac.uk/resources/metadata-standards/iso-19115 https://www.copernicus.eu/en/news/rss Copernicus uses INSPIRE metadata standard. 2014-04-25 2021-08-25
